Budget 2027 | Trusted Business Leadership | Friday, 9 October

More than 300 people from across business, government, the professions, education, healthcare, the voluntary sector, and the wider community will come together at Kinsale Hotel & Spa on Friday, 9 October for the Kinsale & District Lions Club Budget Breakfast Briefing 2027. Headlined by Minister Jack Chambers TD and leading independent economist Jim Power, this year’s event will focus on Budget 2027, Ireland’s economic outlook, competitiveness and the opportunities and challenges facing Irish SMEs.

Under the theme “Trusted Business Leadership”, the Budget Breakfast is about much more than business. It is about bringing people together, sharing ideas, strengthening connections, and using the strength of our business and professional community to make a positive difference locally. The programme will also feature Crona Clohisey, Director of Advocacy at Chartered Accountants Ireland; Pat Lordan, former Head of the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau; Professor Conor Deasy of Cork University Hospital; and David Swinburne, Chair of Chartered Accountants Ireland Cork Society.

Ann-Marie O’Sullivan will host and MC the morning and moderate an Executive Fireside Chat on Trusted Business Leadership with Minister Chambers, Jim Power, Crona Clohisey and Cormac Fitzgerald. The discussion will also be recorded for The Other Hand, Jim Power’s business and economics podcast, bringing the conversation from Kinsale to a wider national audience.

Business, Community & Charity

At its heart, the Budget Breakfast is a community and charity event. Since its establishment, it has generated more than €100,000 for the local community, with proceeds supporting the charitable and community work of Kinsale & District Lions Club.

This year’s charity raffle will support Kinsale Your Support Services (KYSS) and its important work promoting positive mental health and wellbeing locally. The event reflects what Lions is all about — people from different backgrounds coming together in service of their community.
