
Kinsale & District Lions Club Celebrates Over 33 Years of Local Service and Community Impact
Kinsale, May 2025 – Kinsale & District Lions Club is proud to mark over three decades of continuous service to the people of Kinsale and surrounding areas. As part of the world’s largest volunteer service organisation, the Club continues to grow in strength and purpose — serving with compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to community.
Rooted in the Lions Clubs International motto “We Serve,” the Club brings together local volunteers from all walks of life who dedicate their time and talents to supporting those in need. From health and education to youth, elderly, and emergency support, the Kinsale Lions have been there — quietly making a difference.
What We Do – A Local Commitment
Kinsale & District Lions Club is proud to deliver targeted support in the local community, including:
- Aid for families in crisis
- Mental health and wellbeing initiatives
- Educational supports and bursaries
- Elderly care assistance & Youth development
Events like the Annual Golf Classic and the upcoming Autumn Budget Breakfast Briefing which is always a sell out charity event not only raise vital funds but strengthen ties with local businesses and community leaders. The Club’s work is collaborative, inclusive, and entirely voluntary — every cent raised goes directly to service with 100% allocation and have a quick direct impact in the local community.
Part of Something Bigger
Kinsale & District Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs Ireland (District 133), which includes just under 100 clubs across the island of Ireland. All roles — from club level to District Governor — are voluntary.
Lions Clubs in Ireland are involved in over 15 national and international initiatives, including:
- An Annual Senior Citizens Holiday
- Carers’ Weekends
- Diabetes Awareness and Health Education
- Food Appeals
- Youth programmes like the Peace Poster Contest, Young Ambassador, and Student Exchange.
